Snydet Bar Vs. All Natural Soap

Snydet Bar Vs. All Natural Soap

Some wonder what is a snydet bar and why are they not considered soap? Soap is created by the saponification between oils and sodium hydroxide (Lye). After saponification is complete, no lye remains in the product.

A snydet ( blended word created from combining the two words synthetic and deterget) is a cleansing product made by the binding of different synthetic detergents.

Although the word snydet may be unheard of to many people, the very popular Dove bar was the first snydet bar created, being introduced in 1955.

Now don't get me wrong, I still use Dove and some other syndet bars when needed, but my skin acts and feels much better after using a soap bar. Many people love the moisturizing/silky feel left on their skin after using a snydet bar when in fact, that is not what we should want. Soap is intended to cleanse and that is it. No residue should be left on the skin. This is what lotion, body butters and body oils are for.

Handcrafted soaps are created with cleansing oils and no synthetic materials. Al though soap is all natural, they hold a higher pH than synthetic detergents  bars and may not be suitable for everyone. Snydet bars can be considered more gentle, a reason why some still prefer them over soap bars.

I pride myself in creating soap that can tailor to almost anyone. All bars are created with all natural, vegan and cruelty free ingredients. Our fragrances are vegan, paroben and phthalate free; Our micas are vegan and cruelty free.

Try our products and I promise you won't be disappointed.
